About Me

100 things you should know about me, Skyler:
  1. My full name is Skyler Arabella Snowberry.
  2. I was curious to discover what my name meant, so I searched it up. Skyler has a Dutch roots, and it means "sheltering, protecting". Also a Dutch name, Arabella means "beautiful". So my name means "sheltering beautiful". I think it suits me. I like to shelter things, such as animals, that can't speak for themselves by raising awareness, and everyone is beautiful.
  3. I have three siblings, all brothers. I love them with all of my heart. They mean everything to me.
  4. My theme song is "Tied Together with a Smile" by Taylor Swift. A few months ago, I was going through a rather rough time. I had lost sight of everything. Nobody paid much attention to me, especially not the guy I was in like with. My world felt like nothing. At points, I considered giving up, ending the misery. But one part of me, one tiny whisper, the words I heard whenever I played that song, said No. Never. That little whisper of hope was the one thing that dragged me out of my sadness and woe. And now that I'm out, I devote much of my time into helping others who feel the same way. I want to be their whisper, like that song was.
  5. One of my little quirks-I have a love of fedora hats. The word, the shape, everything. Fedoras are just super cool.
  6. I don't have a best friend. I have close friends, but I have never picked a best friend. I hate comparing people to each other, and no matter how many times people will ask me "who's your BFF?" I will never say a name.
  7. Sleep does not come easily for me. If you were to creep into my room at 3AM, you would find me on-line.
  8. Book reviewing is not one of my talents.
  9. My motto is "live and let live". I believe in peace. One day, I hope that there will be no more war. But unless everyday people like us stand up and say "that's not right!", there will be no chance of that ever happening.
  10. I'm actually pretty shy offline. I stay tucked away, lurking in the corners with one or two friends, reading or drawing cartoons.
  11. I have a major crush on Leo Valdez from Rick Riordan's "Heroes of Olympus".
  12. There's a road near my house called Snowberry Avenue. My parents named me after that avenue. Their shared last name is Brown. I'm unique.
  13. Thirteen is my lucky number. Most people don't expect good things to come in thirteens, but I do.
  14. Pixlr is one of my favourite websites! I love editing photos, trying out different effects, and sharing it with fantastic people like you.
  15. I am an atheist.
  16. I believe in equal rights. Every person, no matter who they are or what they look like, has the right to be treated like they're the richest, best, most popular celebrity in the world.
  17. Happily-ever-afters are another one of my beliefs. I believe that every ending is a good one, even if it appears to be bad.
  18. Thanksgiving is my least favourite holiday. Why? Because it only lasts one day, one day of people truly appreciating the world, and then it's over, and everyone just goes back to normal, careless behaviour. I like the food, though.
  19. Speaking of food, my favorite would probably be pasta.
  20. I have never eaten meat and I never will.
  21. I like making covers. Here's one I made for a poem, Pandora's Box.
  22. Flip-flops are my favourite kind of shoe. Sadly, I can only wear them when it's summer, because it's too cold otherwise.
  23. I often feel guilty for having so many luxuries, like my own computer, since many people can't afford to even pay the water bill, let alone spend hours per day procrastinating while kids in china work 24/7 to make clothes like the ones I'm wearing.
  24. I like wearing blues and greens. I also like whites, but I don't like how white looks on me.
  25. Math is my least favourite subject. It's so repetitive!
  26. English is my favourite. I could write for hours describing my new hot pink miniskirt or why I like to write poems.
  27. You know those popular girls, the snotty ones who act like they're all that and a bag of chips, the kind that talk in funny voices and wear pink pink pink? I used to be one of those.
  28. Theatre cured it out of me, though. 3 weeks of acting camp changed my life forever. And I'm glad.
  29. I'm a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to makeup-I always tell girls they don't need it, it just makes them feel more self-conscious, but I secretly like it. Some nights I sneak into the bathroom and try on my mum's mascara, then wipe it off before anyone can see.
  30. The truth is, I do care about my looks. People judge books by their cover all the time, and I like making good first impressions. One way to do that is with looks.
  31. I'm not obsessed or anything. I just like to dress smart. Which is perfectly normal for a girl my age. Right?
  32. I have short, curly hair. It just brushes my shoulders.
  33. Pinterest is another site I like. Cute baby animal pictures are my most popular pins, followed by pretty much anything inspiring.
  34. Sometimes I wish my name was "Dawn". Since a dawn is a new beginning, I think it would suit me.
  35. Change is really hard for me.
  36. Spell check is my biggest pet peeve. It always claims that my name is not a real one.
  37. The background of my blog is one of my favourite pieces of art. I am constantly adding different messages to it and it is my laptop's background. I also edited it so it says my name, look:
  38. I know I should think positive, and I always encourage others to do this, but sometimes it's hard for me.
  39. I believe that everyone is a good person. I may not respect every choice that they make, but I have no right to disrespect a person for being themselves (even if I find that self annoying).
  40. Google Images always rescues me when I'm bored. Look up "cute baby pigs" and your life will be changed forever.
  41. The song Wide Awake by Katy Perry also suits me.
  42. I like lecturing my friends on strange things, like why they put milk in chips-ew!
  43. I am a supporter of YOU.
  44. If there was a symbol I could choose to represent me, it would be something like this.
  45. My favourite animal would be a bird. I've always admired them, their pretty feathers and their ability to soar in life-literally. They seem like such peaceful creatures, too.
  46. I've always dreamt of being able to fly.
  47. If I had three wishes, I would wish for 1:World peace, 2:Fairness and equality, and 3:The ability to fly.
  48. I have more online friends then friends in real life (as in, off of the internet)
  49. I enjoy cleaning other people's bedrooms. Just not my own.
  50. The colour that suits me the most is blue, because it comes in so many shades, from calm and peaceful indigo, to upbeat light blue, to dreamy in-between blue. It always leaves my mind calm, blue, and I also really like it. It's pretty cool. I hate how it's considered a 'boy color'.
  51. I cry a lot. At school, at home, wherever. I don't like it, but I can't help it.
  52. The idea of peanut butter in a s'more disgusts me.
  53. I will only drink water if it is in the form of tea or homemade ice tea. I really can't stand the taste of water. It just tastes so bland, you know?
  54. Sweetness is good, but I dislike things that are overly sweet.
  55. Wheat gives me stomachaches, most likely because it has been genetically modified.
  56. I am a bit stubborn. Well, okay, a lot stubborn.
  57. I love to read. I'm a huge bookworm.
  58. Details are important to me, in writing and in real life. As I always say, "it's the little things in life that make life worth living for" (see image below)
  59. I love cheese.
  60. Video-making is really fun for me. Especially videos where I can show off my talents, like singing and dancing.
  61. I don't like the song Gangham Style AT ALL.
  62. Sleeping in is one of my talents. If you ever stay over at my house, don't worry if you haven't seen me by 2am. I stay up late and sleep in late.
  63. Talking on the phone is something I never do, but always want to do.
  64. Brushing my hair is something I do often.
  65. I love to write.
  66. I love to draw, too. I have a mini comic series called "The Misadventures of Mr. L. Eement" which I originally created while daydreaming in science class.
  67. Drawing and music helps me remember things. I don't think I'd be able to remember what the electromagnetic spectrum is without the obnoxious song our science teacher showed us, or the parts of a cell without the cell rap. And drawing helps me to listen.
  68. I can't ride a bike.
  69. My top 5 music recommendations: Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez, Colbie Caillat, Carly Rae Jepsen. Keisja Cox is pretty good, too.
  70. I am a procrastinator.
  71. I want to make a difference in the world.
  72. My favourite words are bubble, custard, and indigo. They're so fun to say.
  73. Avani is one of my favourite names. My friend Chloe named her grouchy book character by that name and I fell in love.
  74. I'm pretty outgoing sometimes, but mostly I'm quiet.
  75. Favourite book series? Easy. Rick Riordan books. Kane Chronicles, Heroes of Olympus, and good old Percy Jackson are all wonderful. I also like the Mother-Daughter Book Club and Raina Telgemeir's books, although they're graphic novels. Do they count?
  76. I have 11 email addresses.
  77. I love the soundtrack from The Lion King, especially "Circle of Life".
  78. I'm obsessed with the Internet. I come on almost every hour to check for comments on my blogs or to chat online with my friends.
  79. I used to have several pen pals, but our letters ceased to exist.
  80. I like finding irony in life. Like now the spellcheck for Blogger seems to think "blogs" is not a word. When it is a blogging site.
  81. I love making blogs because of the template editing part. All the text color choosing and font placing is just so much fun for me.
  82. I've pulled an all-nighter before, on my tenth birthday. I've attempted all-nighters, too, but I never make it through after 5.
  83. I enjoy making lists. They are very organized and fun.
  84. I also enjoy looking up inspiring Taylor Swift quotes on Goodreads. They have oodles of quotes.
  85. Berries are one of my favorite fruits. Especially blueberries and sweet blackberries and raspberries. Fresh or frozen, they are divine.
  86. I find it most amusing how talking online is called "chatting". Whenever I hear the word "chat", I always think of a tea party with some fancy British ladies sitting around nibbling delicately on scones.
  87. Oh, I also enjoy baking. Cookies are my specialty.
  88. I am sensitive, I get hurt easily.
  89. I mostly think positive. It's hard sometimes, but a sunny outlook on life really does make a difference.
  90. My iPod is one of my most treasured belongings.
  91. I love school.
  92. Baby animals are one of my weaknesses. They're so cute and tiny, I can't help not falling in love with them! I'm glad I don't work at a shelter or a zoo where they help animals and then rescue them, it would be so hard for me to let them go.
  93. My least favorite color combination is red and white.
  94. My mum is an artist, and she has her own studio in our house. I love to go up and do art with her. She's such a great mom.
  95. I also like going shopping. Choosing things out is so much fun!
  96. I suppose I'm more of a stereotypical "girly-girl" than a stereotypical "tomboy", although I hate both terms. Why do we have to separate personality traits by genders?
  97. The three L's-Live, Laugh, and Love-should be practiced on a daily basis, in my opinion.
  98. I like garlic bread, but not too strong.
  99. French fries should have a nutritional value.
  100. I love to write with multicolored pens!
So, to sum it up, I'm a shy girl with a big heart. I like going online, creating artwork, and going to school. I love food and I love friends and I believe in world peace. Yup, that pretty much sums up Skyler Snowberry.

Thanks so much for reading all of this! You're so wonderful. Leave a comment, if you wish, I'm always open to suggestions and feedback on my blog and how to make it better. Have a great day!
